What's on here?

My generally rather rough notes about historical topics. Blog posts are usually associated with a particular source which I am reading, and which I will quote from in my notes. It's experimental, and actually I'm creating it for my own requirements. The posts are dated but there isn't necessarily any need to read them in order.

How do I find it?

By historical period - date - or by topic. Many topics are connected with an individual or a group of people with significant influence, whether academic, cultural or political.

Ancient history

The first few posts on here covered some topics about knowledge in ancient history. However, right now I have a need to read up on a different period, so for the time being (Nov 2024) I will mostly be writing notes about the 17th and 18th centuries.
